My Favorite Restaurant in Munich:

Grill "Sofia" (Bulgarische Spezialitäten)

Lindwurmstr.157 (U-bahn Poccistr., 2 stations from "Sendlinger Tor", 5 U-minutes from Marienplatz), telephone (089) 77 57 17, closed on Mondays.

The restaurant offers a big variety of grill (lots of meat) and Bulgarian dishes, moderately spiced, huge portions and low prices (the latter is very hard to find in Munich). Very delicious meals, good service, friendly personnel.

To give you an idea of the prices (as of 1997...)

Salads: tomatos, green salad, beans, or cabbadge - 3.80 DM
Shopska Salad (Bulgarian mixed salad with white sheep cheese) - 7.50 DM



Starters: 5.50 - 6.80 DM

Soups: 3.80 - 5.50 DM

Grilled dishes: 9.80 - 19.50 DM

Cooked dishes: 7.90 - 12.90 DM

Wines: (Bulgarian and Yougoslavian): 5.60 DM for a glass

My choice: a glass of Bulgarian white wine, "Shopska" Salad, Shkembe Tschorba (Soup), Bulgarischer Topf (cooked meat with vegetables), no place for dessert -- all in all 30 DM.
